We stayed in the lodge this past weekend and I have nothing but praise for both the owner and facility. George was a most gracious host and has a wealth of information about the area, which he shared gladly. We opted to have our breakfasts provided. I'm sure the host of the food show You Gotta Eat Here would agree with my assessment. The food was most enjoyable, nutritious and the quantity held us until lunch, and we weren't sitting about! We were there on a rock hounding field trip with other club members. As a group, we opted to have a dinner and I believe it equalled our breakfast experience. There is plenty of room to sit about and chat after a shared meal and no pressure to move on. The lodge is located on a beautiful lake and wildlife was plentiful. We saw turkeys several times during our stay. The 17 poults ( baby turkeys) were entertaining and visited, while under adult turkey supervision, each morning and evening while we were there. We also had a Mama deer and her fawn appear on the front lawn for a visit one morning. The lodge itself was comfortable and we had a room overlooking the lake. The sunrise was beautiful to see at first waking. There are also numerous opportunities for activity, such as pool and ping pong and fishing from the dock, as well as a TV and computer. It was a wonderful time away and we will definitely return.
